The cylinder head assembly is an important part of the engine. It is usually made of gray cast iron or alloy cast iron, but some engines are also made of aluminum alloy, which helps to increase the compression ratio.

The functions of the engine cylinder head are:
1. Close the upper part of the cylinder to form a combustion chamber;
2. It is the support for the camshaft, rocker arm shaft and intake and exhaust pipes;
3. The air is sucked into the cylinder, and the combustible mixture is ignited by the spark plug, driving the piston to do work, so that the exhaust gas is discharged from the exhaust pipe.
The cylinder head must withstand the gas force and the mechanical load caused by tightening the cylinder bolts, as well as the thermal load of high temperature and high pressure. Therefore, the cylinder head should have sufficient stiffness and strength.
